The life of Death is never simple, but when little green men are rumoured to be plotting his demise things can get so complicated.
Welcome to the Business of Life, the company responsible for Existence, run exquisitely under the ever watchful, all-seeing-eye of Johnny B God.
In the grand scheme of all things Immortal, Grim Alfonzo Reaper has been the collector of souls since the Days of Creation, which followed many millennia of brainstorming and graph analysis, but he has never come across a situation where a soul he collects apparently died while digging his grave.
Who would want to kill Death? Men in green Lycra apparently which would suggest a lack of both common and dress sense.
Aided and hindered in equal measure by a verbally-challenged demon, the Devil himself, and a multitude of vapourous but colourful collected souls, Grim finds that his life was much simpler when all humans had to say was "Ug."
A surreal comic fantasy about death, life, love, annoyance, violence, depravity, green Lycra and just a little Grim Reaping.

I read this book several months ago, and I'm just now getting around to reviewing it. The telling piece is this: I'm still thinking about it. And when I think about it, I snicker. The story starts as any good tale should: a ninja dressed like a frog interrupts a routine soul-snatching and suddenly the Grim Reaper is getting death threats. Then it starts getting weird. Grim is snarky, cynical, and resigned to his lot in the bureaucratic process of death. But he doesn't take lightly to threats against his immortal self. So he starts his quest to figure out who these green spandex-clad nightmares are and why they want him out of the eternal picture. His allies include an unintelligible, unintelligent demon and the Devil himself, in all his nasty, porn-loving glory. Before we get to the bottom of the mystery (and of course save all of existence), we get to poke fun at just about every divine being you can think of. Throughout it all, Grim is a lovable, albeit reluctant, hero that you can't help rooting for.Grim Reaping is well-written with minimal errors. I am keeping my eye on this author. He's sporting just my kind of sarcastic humor.

Grim Reaping The Grim Reaper Series Book 1 edition by Anthony Lund Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This book is pretty great. It's got a unique take on the whole God/Heaven/Hell idea and it isn't afraid to run with the story.
If you are a fan of Pratchett and how he writes Death, you will like this book. Same sort of dry humor, same sort of insane situations.
Honestly speaking, if you heard there was a story about a bunch of people dressed in green tights and bodysuits trying to kill Death... how can you NOT want to read it to find out what's going on?
Great book, and I can't recommend it enough.
Great story line and plot. I will read more stories in this series. Anthony keeps you interested through out this book
It was a pretty good book, seemed long and boring at times. But I g o t threw it would n o t read it again
I really loved this book! The character of death is very well written and has a very dry sense of humor. This book reminded me slightly of "Good Omens" in the form of the humor involved.
The plot was basic and the story line was smile-to-yourself funny. Read a Terry Pratchet Death book instead. In fact, the best moment of this book was when the author made a jab at the Great Pratchet.
Grim Alfonzo Reaper or Grim (and yes the notorious Grim with the scythe) goes on his day to day activities of guiding souls to their destinations when he discovers that there is a group out to get him killed. Killing Death may seem impossible but the Wee (and yes again that is their name) seems to be adamant on the task. This is the first time that I read Grim portrayed this way, I couldn't quite put a finger to it but I can definitely tell you that it's not your usual Grim Reaper portrayal.
To tell you the truth, I didn't know what to expect with reading Grim Reaping. I thought it was another book about Death and other supernatural but lo and behold it was shockingly hilarious and downright funny, in a certain way. For me, I consider it "smart funny" if you get what I mean. It is not like your usual comedy. That plus the fact that Grims friends/minions were also fun to read - weird combination of characters but for Grim Reaping, it worked!
This is a novel that is easy to read and Lund's writing is easy to follow. I love how Lund didn't need to make the story complicated to give us an entertaining tale. It was straight to the point without giving us all the hints, it wasn't fluffed with unnecessary information/cliff hanger/drama, fast paced story, and has well developed characters who are not only funny but also interesting. I believe this is first in the series and I recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy a good book. Lund definitely gained a new follower in me and looking forward to what will happen to Grim next. For such a cheap price, your money definitely is worth it on this one!
The story was different and usually managed to keep the energy going. It does need an editor to review for word choice.
